Aromatherapy is a branch of herbal medicine that uses essential oils extracted from plants to treat a wide range of conditions.

Through a process of steam distillation, essential oils are extracted from a plant’s flowers, leaves, branches or roots. These essential oils can then be inhaled or applied topically.
Many years of clinical experience have shown that certain essential oils are useful for particular conditions. Below are a few common essential oils and their uses.
Geranium
Helps regulate sebum production, making it useful for treating acne. After cleansing and toning, combine 2 drops of Geranium with moisturiser in the palm or your hands and apply to the affected area.
German Chamomile
Soothes irritated skin. eg eczema, psorasis etc. Put 3 drops in the bath or in a base cream and apply topically.
Ylang Ylang
For temporary relief of nervous tension, unrest, irritability or anxiety. Place 2 to 3 drops in an oil vaporiser or in the bath as often as needed.
