Our Pregnancy Massage is a safe, nurturing treatment designed to support and relax expectant mothers at any stage of pregnancy. Using light to medium pressure, this massage helps relieve general tension and stress while promoting overall wellbeing. During pregnancy, ligaments naturally loosen—so while firm pressure may feel good at the time, it can often lead to discomfort later. For this reason, our approach is gentle and soothing, focused on calming the nervous system and providing emotional and physical support.

We offer specially designed belly-support pillows that allow you to lie safely and comfortably on your tummy, or you may choose to lie on your side with supportive pillows—whichever feels best for you. Your comfort is our priority.

If you’re experiencing specific concerns such as sciatica or carpal tunnel, a more therapeutic treatment like Pregnancy Remedial Massage may be more appropriate.

Benefits of Massage during pregnancy

  • reduces swollen painful legs and feet
  • help to prevent insomnia
  • reduce muscle cramps and back pain
  • soothe the nervous system
  • ease sciatica, leg cramps and shoulder pain.

Pregnancy Massage

During the early stages of pregnancy, the massage can be performed with Mum lying face down. When it becomes too uncomfortable, a customised Belly Pillow still allows a pregnant woman to lie on her front. Easing the pressure on her lower back and giving her a chance to really enjoy her massage. This may not sound comfortable but it truly is, and allows the Therapist to work on more areas of concern. Another option is to be in the side-lying position with the support of pillows. The comfort of Mum is always our priority.

Massage can help you move better, easing discomfort and allowing you to sleep more comfortablyRegular massages during pregnancy can also shorten labour time and make the return of your optimal fitness easier.  Even receiving Massage once a week after the first trimester is a great way to help ease recurring problems and maintain general well-being.

If you are considered a high risk pregnancy, we kindly ask that you get clearance from your health care provider prior to booking.

Post Natal Massage on the Sunshine Coast
Relaxed mama = relaxed baby!

Post-Natal Massage

The birth of a new baby brings joy, exhilaration and profound changes and challenges to your life. Postnatal massage helps to restore your body, correct postural problems and tight muscles, help improve circulation and reduce fluid retention, boost energy levels and reduce feelings of stress and anxiety.

As you make your transition into motherhood not only do you have to adapt to your non-pregnant state, but also to changes within your family, not to mention caring for your dependent baby 24/7. The stress from childbirth and time spent caring for your newborn is taxing on your body. A new mother’s needs at this time often go ‘under the radar’. Therefore it is vitally important, that new mums receive care and nurturing to support them through this time.

For mothers who delivered naturally, they can start their post-natal massage as soon as they are comfortable and ready. However, for caesarean section delivery, mothers are encouraged to wait for at least 2 weeks after delivery or when the incision is properly healed before they can start their massage. It’s important that new mothers take time to care for themselves so she can be at her best for baby.
